Sustainability Strategy

In the core of our sustainability strategy lies an Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS). It is designed to provide guidance on how the company implements its commitments and addresses the risks related to environmental, social and governance aspects. The ESMS outlines in depth our approach, policies and procedures on various sustainability related topics such as environmental protection and impacts assessment, sustainable resource management, labor management, occupational and community health and safety, emergency preparedness and response, meaningful stakeholder engagement, land acquisition and resettlement, livelihood restauration, biodiversity management and conservation.
Each of the topics described in the ESMS is supported by measurable actions as well as dedicated roles and responsibilities for mitigation, management and monitoring the sustainable performance of our assets portfolio.

Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) Compliance

The ESMS is extensively based on internationally recognized good practices ( such as IFC Performance Standards, EBRD Performance Requirements)  and transboundary regulations (such as EU Regulation 2020/852 “EU Taxonomy”) for sustainable governance, however depending on the location specifics of each of our projects we assure compliance with the national regulatory framework in place of those operations. In that regard, depending on the location of a project an in-depth environmental impact assessment (EIA) may be conducted by a third-party expert knowledgeable on the local environment and social climate. Based on the discoveries made in those assessments the ESMS is to be followed, if applicable, by a project specific Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP).
